We’re pleased to announce that TH Electrical has achieved SafeContractor accreditation, recognising our commitment to managing health and safety responsibly across the electrical work we carry out.
As an electrical contractor serving Maidstone, Kent and the South East, we understand that customers want confidence in both the quality of the work and the people carrying it out. This accreditation provides additional reassurance about the health and safety arrangements behind our services.
But what does SafeContractor approval involve, and why does it matter when choosing an electrical contractor?
What is SafeContractor accreditation?
SafeContractor is a recognised contractor assessment scheme and a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement, commonly known as SSIP.
The scheme assesses a business’s health and safety arrangements against established criteria, with questions tailored to its size and the activities it undertakes. This gives customers and organisations a recognised way to assess a contractor’s approach to managing health and safety.
For TH Electrical, achieving accreditation is an opportunity to demonstrate the importance we place on responsible working practices.
How is accreditation achieved?
The process involves completing a questionnaire and submitting supporting documentation. SafeContractor reviews this information before an auditor carries out a detailed assessment. Certification is awarded once the relevant assessment criteria have been met.
Depending on the business and its work, supporting evidence can include health and safety arrangements, risk assessments, method statements, training records, qualifications and insurance documentation. Activity-specific procedures may also be required, such as electrical isolation procedures or arrangements for working at height.
These documents help explain how a contractor identifies hazards, plans work and puts appropriate precautions in place.
What does it mean for our domestic customers?
Inviting an electrical contractor into your home involves trust. You want clear communication, a professional approach and confidence that your property and the people in it will be treated with care.
Our SafeContractor accreditation gives homeowners additional reassurance that our health and safety arrangements have undergone an independent assessment.
For us, that commitment belongs in the everyday details of a job: considering the working environment, explaining what is involved and planning work with the people using the property in mind.
What does it mean for commercial customers?
For businesses, facilities managers and organisations appointing contractors, health and safety forms an important part of supplier selection.
SafeContractor accreditation can support that process by providing recognised evidence of an assessment, helping clients review prospective contractors more efficiently.
We understand that commercial electrical work often takes place around staff, customers and other trades. Clear planning, communication and coordination all matter when organising work within an occupied premises.
Our accreditation supports those conversations and demonstrates our willingness to have our arrangements independently reviewed.
An ongoing commitment
Achieving SafeContractor approval is a milestone we’re proud of. Maintaining good standards remains an ongoing responsibility, with each project requiring consideration of its own conditions and risks.
We will continue to place health and safety alongside workmanship and customer service as priorities for TH Electrical.
Thank you to our team for helping us achieve this accreditation, and to our customers for their continued trust and support.
